Charlie was born 63 years ago in a small town in Texas. At the time of his death, he resided on a small farm east of Norman, Oklahoma with his dogs, cats, Appaloosa horses, goats and a Harley Davidson motorcycle. He was a philosopher, writer, poet, historian and political theorist. Charlie loved his home, his family and his animals, but above all, he loved teaching. After spending many years training horses, he devoted his last years to teaching adult education classes in Oklahoma City. His method of teaching proved to be one of the best ever seen in his school. Hundreds of students were able to obtain a general education degree (GED) and continue their education thanks to the knowledge and life skills learned from Mr. Cozart. His colleagues have said that he was a true inspiration and "cast a LARGE shadow." Charlie was posthumously awarded The Distinguished Service Award at OKC Adult Education graduation on May 29, 2014. Even after taking GED classes, students must pay $136 each to take the final examination. That's a lot of money for most of the students with whom Charlie worked. Please join us in honoring Charlie by contributing to OKC Adult Education's testing fund. No donation is too large or too small. Charlie was passionate about helping his students; he would be pleased to be honored in this way.
