Conley Rice Obituary (1944

Conley Lee Rice, 68, passed away Wednesday morning, January 16, 2013 at his home after a courageous two-year battle with pancreatic cancer. The son of Delorous (Littlefield) and Orville E. Rice, he was born November 10, 1944 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. Conley graduated from Guymon High School in 1962 and was a United States Army veteran. Conley was married to Karen Keenan and they had two sons, Kiley and K.L. Conley worked as a heavy equipment operator for Rice Construction and R.G. Morgan and worked as a cowboy for many years. Conley rode a horse or a motorcycle whenever he could. When he wasn't roping or working cattle, he was riding his Harley. He was a longtime member of the Harley Owners Group and was active in the area 5-State Motorcycle Run. Conley was a longtime member of the NRA; enjoyed hunting and shooting. He gave each of his grandsons their first rifle and enjoyed teaching them to shoot and hunt. He was a member of the Northridge Free Will Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Leesa Hogan; two sons, Kiley Rice and K.L. Rice and wife Molly, all of Guymon; his sister, Nadean Clapper and her family of Hutchinson, Kansas; two step-sons, Byron Hogan and wife, Kyla of Austin, Texas and Brandon Hogan of Wichita, Kansas. He was known as "Granddad" to his adored grandchildren, Keegan, Kaylen, Payton, Kyan, and Addison Rice and another grandson due in April; and Vivian Hogan. He was preceded in death by his parents and two nephews, Wesley and Steve Clapper. The Rice family will receive friends at the Henson-Novak Funeral Home, 501 NW Fifth, on Friday evening from 6:00-8:00 PM. Graveside rites will be Saturday afternoon, 3:30 P.M., January 19th, at Elmhurst Cemetery. Memorials services will be at 4:00 PM at the Henson-Novak Funeral Chapel with Rev. Van Heckle, pastor of Tabernacle Baptist Church, officiating.
