Coy Holt Obituary (1933

Coy Holt, 90-year-old Gruver, Texas resident passed away Wednesday, July 24, 2024 at Hansford County Hospital in Spearman, Texas. Coy Miles Holt was born on September 6, 1933, in Dalhart, Texas to Coy Madison Holt and Eva Alexander Holt. His childhood was spent on the families Palo Duro ranch a few miles south of Gruver, Texas. During that time, the creek had running water year-round. His childhood was filled with fun times including fishing, swimming, and playing in the creek with his brothers, sisters, cousins and friends. Coy Miles attended Gruver, Texas school system and graduated with the class of 1953. He was drafted into the United States Army in 1954 and proudly served two years for his country. He was a partner in the family business of farming and ranching. In later years he enjoyed going to farm auctions to look for bargains for the family business. His main interests in life were family and farming. He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers: Nick and Pat Holt; and one sister: Elizabeth Holt. Coy is survived by one sister: Comfort Holt Winders; two sisters-in-law: Trixie Holt & Georgia Holt ,all of Spearman, Texas. Coy is also survived by several nieces, nephews and a host of friends Graveside funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 29, 2024 at Gruver Cemetery with Donald Ward officiating.
