Dale Lively

Dale L. Lively, 65, lifelong Guymon and Hooker resident, passed away early Wednesday, June 19, 2013 at Integris Hospice House in Oklahoma City.

The son of Alta (Gaston) and James L. Lively, he was born June 3, 1948 in Woodward, Oklahoma. Dale graduated from Guymon High School with the Class of 1966. He served in the United States Navy and returned to the Panhandle in 1971. Dale was united in marriage to Karyn Sue Pio on February 26, 1969 at the Hardesty United Methodist Church. Dale had retired from Tri-County Electric Co-op in 2012. He enjoyed his family, roping, was a member of the Hooker American Legion, and attended the Hardesty Community Church.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Sue Lively of Hooker; daughter, Kara and husband, James McDowell of Dumas, Texas; son, Ron Lively and wife, Kim of Guymon; his mother, Alta Lively of Guymon; two brothers, David Lively and wife, Carolyn of Oklahoma City; and Dennis Lively and wife, Gloria of Guymon. He was Papa or Grandpa Dale to his five grandchildren, Dacia Swader, Darcie Wilson, Shayla McDowell, McKade Lively and Bryson McDowell; two step grandchildren, Matthew Pruitt and Kourtney Pruitt; one great grandson, Kayleb Swader; and a step-great grandson, Myles Pruitt.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Lively; an infant daughter, Cheri Lee Lively; mother and father-in-law, Betty and Jay Pio; sister-in-law, Julie Donnelly; and brother-in-law, Douglas Pio.

Funeral services will be Saturday morning, June 22nd, 10:30 A.M. at the Hardesty School Auditorium with Rev. Delvin Wiles officiating. Interment will follow in Hartville Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Friday evening at Mrs. Alta Lively's home, 803 N May, Guymon.
