E.C. (Pat) Patton Obituary (1917

Eldon Crumpler "Pat" Patton, 91, of Salina, KS died Thursday, Jan 1, 2009. Pat was Born Feb 20, 1917 in Harrison, Arkansas where he met and married his sweetheart of the last 68 years -- Jo. He was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin E. Patton and Annie Coffey Patton, an infant brother and his sisters Erma Guinn and Phyllis Earl Magness. He graduated in 1935 from Bergman High School in Bergman AR. Pat was a dedicated father and husband, an accomplished writer of poems and short stories and a fine hardworking mechanic. He proudly served as a machinist in the US Coast Guard in World War II and moved to Guymon, OK in the 1950's where he was to live most of his life. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Survivors include his wife Josephine "Jo" Patton, of Salina KS; one daughter; Glenda Patton of Salina, KS and six sons; Dale of Montrose, PA, Jim of Parker, CO, Dwain of Elizabethtown, KY, Billy of Tucson, AZ, Glen of Wichita, KS and Paul of Denver, CO; Pat's brother Don Patton of Bergman, AR and many and children, nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be Saturday afternoon, January 17, 2009, 2:00 P.M. at Trinity Lutheran Church, Guymon with Pastor Mark Wescoatt officiating. Pat will be laid to rest next to his infant born son, David, in Elmhurst Cemetery. Memorial contributions are to be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church, c/o Henson-Novak Funeral Directors, P.O.
