Earnestine Wood Obituary (1920

Guymon, Oklahoma - Florence Earnestine (Ernie) Wood, 92 longtime Guymon resident, passed away Thursday, May 23, 2013 at Beaver County Nursing Home, Beaver, Ok, where she had been a resident for the past 5 years. The daughter or Juanita (Kennedy) and Nicholas Becker, she was born September 8, 1920 in Elkhart, KS. Young Ernie attended 12 years of school in Goodwell, Ok where she resided until her marriage. She was united in marriage to Vernon Wood on June 2, 1940 in Guymon, OK. The Wood's made their home in Guymon and reared their family. Mrs. Wood was a bookkeeper for Miller Motors and Dunaway Manor for many years. She was an avid bowler and she dearly loved sewing, quilting, crocheting, and making quilts for all of her children and grandchildren. She was a long time member of the Home Demonstration Club in Guymon. She loved her family and doing things for them. She was preceded in death by her husband Vernon Wood; a son Steve Wood; two grandsons Michael Douglas Stump and James (Jim) Webb. She is survived by her three daughters and their husbands; Terry & Susan Kile, Beaver; Sandi and Bob Stump; and Shari and Larry Remling all of Guymon; two sisters Freda Cavin, Freeport, TX and Anita Neville, Guymon; five grandchildren and their families; John Webb, Lenexa, KS; the late Jim Webb's family San Antonio, TX; Mikki Bowman, Floresville, TX ; Jessica Neal, Tulsa, OK; Doug Remling, Crossville, TN; Rhonda Remling, Oklahoma City, OK; twenty great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren and a host of friends. Graveside services will be Saturday morning, June 8th, 2013, 10:00 A.M. at Elmhurst Cemetery, Guymon, with Rev. Rick Main, pastor of Beaver First Christian Church, officiating.
