Erland (Wally) Wallace Obituary (1934

Texhoma, Oklahoma - Erland Dean (Wally) Wallace, 80, longtime Texhoma resident, passed away early Tuesday, April 21, 2015 North West Texas Hospital, Amarillo, Texas. The son of Elsie May (Terry) and Harold Bernard Wallace, Erland Dean was born July 17, 1934 in Haven, Kansas. After graduating from Two Buttes, Colorado High School, Erland served in the United States Army. He was united in marriage to Lou Ann Albright on May 29, 1959 in Pretty Prairie, Kansas. They lived in the farm near Plevna, Kansas before moving to Texhoma in 1976. Wally worked as a truck driver and an upholsterer for many years. Wally was a Texhoma sports supportor, and enjoyed watching his grandchildren in all their activities. Family and faith were most important to Wally and he was a devoted member of First Christian Church. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Lou Ann Wallace of the home; two daughters, Diana Ellis and husband, Kyle of Texhoma; Kathy Thomason and husband, Ken of Spring, TX; three sons, Roger Wallace and wife, Esther, of Deersville, GA; Monte Wallace and wife, Jana, of Guymon, OK; and Gary Wallace of Turpin, OK; a sister, Reva Buttran of Alamogordo, NM; and sister-in-law, Mary Wallace of Springfield, CO. He was PaPa to his ten grandchildren, Aaron Ellis, Amy Ellis, Josh Ellis, Kristen Garza and husband, Gustavo; Katelyn Thomason, Matthew Wallace, Melissa Karaval and husband, Michael, Grayson, Gannon and Greer Wallace; and three great grandchildren, Jayda Minick, Elena Garza and Wyatt Wallace. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Gerald Wallace and Norval Wallace. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday morning, April 27th, 10:00 AM at the First Christian Church, 120 S 3rd Street, Texhoma, with Rev. Chris Hedges, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in Texhoma Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday evening, 6-8:00 PM at the First Christian Church.
