Facundo (Joe) Valdez Obituary (1933

Guymon, Oklahoma - Facundo Joe Valdez, 75, longtime Guymon resident, passed away Sunday evening, December 14, 2008 at the Dunaway Manor. The son of Mercedes (Mestas) and Juan Isedro Valdez, he was born August 9, 1933 in Moses, New Mexico. He was reared in Clayton, New Mexico and was united in marriage to Felipa Gloria Marquez on May 3, 1952 in Clayton. The Valdez family moved to Guymon in 1969 where Joe worked for Swift Packing Plant and was later employed at CRI Feeders and the Oklahoma Highway Department. After retirement, he opened F&F Small Engine Repair. He was a member of the Pentecostal Holiness Church in Guymon and enjoyed camping, fishing and hunting. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Felipa Valdez; two daughters, Della Valdez of Guymon and Juanita J. Valdez of Stafford, Kansas; two sons, George Luis Valdez and wife, Barbara of Goodwell, OK; and Victor F. Valdez of Hooker, OK; three sisters, Lucy Arguello of Clayton, NM; Pauline Perez of Denver, CO, and Theresa Saunders of Las Vegas, NV; one brother, Johnny Valdez and wife, Cathy of Goodwell. He is also survived by two aunts, Sophie Martinez and Eloise Valdez, both of Clayton; ten grandchildren, Josh Worley, Felicia and Dace Stenger, Julian and Beth Dandini, Arron East, Tyler Valdez, Jesse Valdez, Israel Klein and Brittany Valdez; and eight great grandchildren, Ashtyn and Dane Stenger, Elizabeth and Mariah Dandini, Frankie Kelley, Paris and London Valdez, and Cambri Barton. He was preceded in death by one sister, one brother, a son, Patrick Loyd Valdez, and a grandson, Abraham Lynn Valdez. Graveside funeral services will be Thursday afternoon, December 18th at 2:00 P.M. at Elmhurst Cemetery with Rev. Jack Peck, pastor of Pentecostal Holiness Church, officiating. Services are under the care of Henson-Novak Funeral Directors of Guymon. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4:00-8:00 PM and all day Wednesday, 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM.
