Felipa Valdez Obituary (1934

Guymon, Oklahoma - Felipa Valdez, 75, passed away Monday, November 2, 2009 as a result of an auto accident. The daughter of Carmelita Rivera (Archuleta) and Manuel D. Marquez, she was born May 26, 1934 in Corrumpa, NM. She was born and reared in Corrumpa and attended high school in Grenville, NM. She was united in marriage to Facundo Joe Valdez on May 3, 1952 in Clayton, NM. The Valdez family moved to Guymon in 1969. Over the years, Felipa had worked at several places in town, including TG&Y, Dunaway Manor, and Guymon school cafeteria. Felipa was a member of the Pentecostal Holiness Church and enjoyed camping, fishing and dancing. Survivors include her two daughters, Della Valdez of Guymon and Juanita J. Valdez of Stafford, KS; two sons, George Luis Valdez and wife, Barbara of Goodwell, OK; and Victor F. Valdez of Hooker, OK; eight sisters, Gertrude Vigil, Alice Luna, Elsie Roybal, Lillie Grogen, all of Denver, CO; Teresa Hendrickson of Milwaukee, WI; Alice Luna of Denver, CO; Elsie Roybal and Lillie Grogen, all of Denver; Mary Valdez of Des Moines, NM; Carmen Romero of Dalhart, TX; and Mary Ann Lamb of Pampa, TX. She is also survived by ten grandchildren, Josh Worley, Felicia and Dace Stenger, Julian and Beth Dandini, Arron East, Tyler Valdez, Jesse Valdez, Israel Klein and Brittany Valdez; and eight great grandchildren, Ashtyn and Dane Stenger, Elizabeth and Mariah Dandini, Frankie Kelley, Paris and London Valdez, Cambri Barton and Mikayla Jane Hawkins. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Nick , Sixto and Margarito Marquez; two sisters, Aurora Martinez and Stella Romero; one son, Pat Valdez; one grandson, Abraham Valdez; and her husband, Joe Valdez who passed away December 14, 2008. Funeral services will be Saturday afternoon, November 7th, 2009, 2:00 PM at Pentecostal Holiness Church, 1009 N Ellison, Guymon, with Rev. Jack Peck, pastor, officiating.
