Fern Ola Wilgus Obituary (1926

Fern Ola Wilgus, 82, longtime Guymon resident, passed away Friday, February 13, 2009 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The daughter of Clemma (Hoskinson) and Elmer Folmer, she was born September 20, 1926 in Liberal, Kansas. Fern Ola attended Liberal schools and graduated from Liberal High School in 1944. She was united in marriage to Lois Ray Wilgus on October 23, 1943. She had worked at the Baughman Investment Company in Liberal and the Wilgus family moved and made their home in Guymon in 1963 where she had worked for the Panhandle Livestock Commission Company and the Texas County Treasurer's Office. She was an active member of the Church of the Nazarene. Fern Ola enjoyed her family and so adored her grandchildren. She was a member of the Merry Glazer's Ceramic Club and enjoyed scrapbooking. She and PeeWee loved to travel and had been to each of the 50 states, plus Canada and Mexico. Survivors include her sweetheart and husband of more than 65 years, L.R. (PeeWee) Wilgus; her daughter, Teresa and husband, David Randle of Hays, KS; son, Roger Wilgus and wife, Annette, of Guymon; a sister, Delpha and husband, Jamie Oglesby of Thomasville, GA; five grandchildren, Tammie Nelson of Beloit, Kansas; Angela and husband, Kevin Heier of Sedgwick, KS; Davesa and husband, Donald Cousins; and Shayla Randle, all of Hays, KS; and Logan Wilgus of Guymon; and nine great grandchildren. Funeral services will be Tuesday afternoon, February 17th at 1:00 P.M. at the Church of the Nazarene, 2214 N Sunset, Guymon, with Rev. Wayne Dawson, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow at 4:00 P.M. at the Liberal Memorial Gardens, Liberal Kansas. Arrangements are under the care of Henson-Novak Funeral Directors, Guymon, Oklahoma.
