Frances Ilene Spence

Frances Ilene Spence, 64, passed away Wednesday evening, December 25th, 2013 at Vibra Hospital, Amarillo, Texas.

The daughter of Lloyeda Juanelle (Williams) and Albert Smith, she was born July 7, 1949 in Amarillo. Frances attended Amarillo and Guymon schools. She was united in marriage to William G. (Bill) Spence on May 29, 1969 in Guymon. Frances was a devoted wife, mother and grandma. She was a faithful member of Sunset Lane Baptist Church, where she was often involved with mission work, taught Sunday school, and always enjoyed working with the children and Vacation Bible School.

Frances was a beautiful Christian woman with sincere concern and compassion. She cared for others, but more importantly, prayed for others. She was loved by all and will be missed.

Survivors include her husband, Bill Spence; daughter, Carolyn and husband, Kevin Strecker; son, Patrick Spence and wife, Lynn; all of Guymon. She was the adoring "Grandma" to grandsons, Sean Spence and Dawson Strecker. She is also survived by her two brothers, Mike Smith and wife, Jarata, of Norman, OK; and Danny Smith and wife, Kelly, of Oklahoma City.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services will be Monday morning, December 30th, 10:00 A.M. at Sunset Lane Baptist Church, 1515 N Sunset Ln, with Rev. Lloyd Riddles, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in Elmhurst Cemetery and is entrusted to Henson-Novak Funeral Directors.
