Boise City, Oklahoma

George Nall, 89-year-old resident of Boise City, Oklahoma passed away on Saturday, October 29, 2022 at Cimarron Memorial Hospital.

George W. Nall, Jr. was born June 17, 1933 in Elkhart, KS to George W. Sr and Lillian (Stodghill) Nall. George was the last of four children, his siblings being much older than him.

George graduated from Boise City High School in 1951. Upon graduation, he attended Panhandle A & M College in Goodwell for two years before transferring to Oklahoma A & M College in Stillwater for his final two years. While at OAMC, George was active in crop judging and was part of a team that came in second nationally. He placed third individually and was nominated by his coach for the Rhode's Scholar award. He managed to take some time for fun while there, belonging to Farm House Fraternity. He graduated from OAMC in 1955 with a B.S. degree in agronomy and a minor in chemistry.

Upon graduation from college, George volunteered for the draft into the US Army. He was stationed at Fort Lawton, WA for two years. After his military service, George took a job as a chemist with CF&I in Pueblo, CO. After a year, he decided it was time to come home and farm with his father. In 1960, George took over the operation and was one of the pioneers of irrigation in Cimarron County. He retired from farming in 2000.

George married Rozelle (Rosie) Sechler on August 10, 1958. They were blessed with two girls, Stephanie and Paige. George and Rosie were quite involved with their kids and followed the girls as they participated in various activities while growing up. They were just as interested in their grandkids' activities, closely following and cheering them on through the years. George was thrilled when his great-grandson, Logan joined the family.

George had a deep appreciation of Cimarron County and the people who live here. It was important to him to be active in and give back to his community. He was very involved, serving in different capacities through the years. A few of his areas of involvement included serving on the board of the Boise City Farmers' Coop, many years as the president, mayor of Boise City, president of the Cimarron County EMS board, many years as the treasurer of the Cimarron County Senior Center, and a member of First Baptist Church of Boise City since 1942. He was named Santa Fe Trail Daze Parade Marshall in 2018.

One of George's greatest pleasures was following and encouraging the students of Boise City High School in all their activities. He especially loved watching the athletic events and did so for many, many years. In fact, he watched multiple generations of athletes. The family has been touched to receive texts and messages from many people he influenced through the years.

George was proceeded in death by his wife of 49 years, Rosie, his parents and his siblings. He is survived by his daughters, Stephanie Holloway and husband, Stanley of Amarillo, TX, Paige Erickson and husband, Chuck of Guymon, OK.
