Helen Love Winter

Helen Florence (Love) Winter, 96, passed away Thursday morning, February 12, 2009 at the Trinity Care Center in Bridgeport, Texas.

The daughter of Laura Mae (Horton) and William Edward Love, she was born January 4, 1913 in Guymon, Oklahoma. The young Helen attended Guymon schools and graduated from Guymon High School. She later attended Panhandle A&M College in Goodwell, Oklahoma. She enjoyed crocheting and gardening and cherished her family, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter, L. Sue Shaffer of Bridgeport, Texas; two grandchildren, Melissa and husband, Tim Huya of Bridgeport and Tim Rawls of Stillwater, OK; great grandchildren, Hanna, Dalton and Claire Huya.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Bennett and her husband, Carmel Bennett; brother, Robert Love and his wife, Mary.

The family will receive friends at Henson-Novak Funeral Directors, 501 NW Fifth, Guymon, on Monday evening, February 16th from 5-7:00 P.M.

Graveside services will be conducted Tuesday morning, February 17th at 10:00 A.M. at Elmhurst Cemetery with Pastor Mark Wescoatt, pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church, offficiating.
