L.L. (Linnie) Rodman Obituary (1927

Guymon, Oklahoma - L.L. (Linnie) Rodman, 83, passed away Sunday morning, November 20, 2011 at the Dunaway Manor in Guymon. The son of Arthur Rodman and Maude Dalton Rodman, he was born December 8, 1927 in Guymon Oklahoma. He graduated from Guymon High School with the Class of 1946. He married his forever sweetheart, Elizabeth Joyce Landrum on December 28, 1946 in Liberal, Kansas. Linnie served his country in the U.S. Navy, WWII . He worked as an engineer for Michigan-Wisconsin, retiring in 1982. Linnie was a Boy Scout Leader and Kid's Incorporated coach for many years. He loved helping the children. Linnie was a generous man with an amazing sense of humor, which he kept to the very end. He took great pleasure in doing for others, anonymously when possible. If he heard of children without bicycles, Linnie bought them bicycles. If he knew someone without a TV, Linnie bought them a TV. If someone needed money for medical bills, Linnie gave them money. Linnie loved his family and friends. He enjoyed golf and was an avid OU fan. Linnie and Joyce were able to take many trips together and with friends after his retirement. Joyce passed away July 23, 2002. He is survived by his son, Jim Rodman of Girard, KS; a brother, Hugh and Mary Rodman of Miami OK; a grandson, Ashley Rodman of Champagne, IL; sister in law, Cynthia Rodman, numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Greg Rodman who passed away in 1973; his beloved wife, Joyce; brothers Richard, John, Fred, Robert and Jack; sisters Lois Bailey, Thelma Clark, Fern and Mildred. The family will receive friends at Henson-Novak Funeral Directors, 501 NW Fifth, Guymon on Monday evening, November 21st, 6:00-8:00 PM. Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday afternoon, November 22nd, 2:00 P.M. at the Henson-Novak Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow in Elmhurst Cemetery.
