Mickey Nash Obituary (1919

Mickey Nash, age 92, long time Guymon resident died Thursday morning, August 16, 2012 at Odyssey Hospice in Amarillo TX. She had resided at the Cottages at Quail Creek in Amarillo, TX for the past six years. Mickey was born Sep. 6th, 1919 in Childress, TX and at age 3 she moved to Guymon, OK with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Homer E Dixon Sr. After graduating from Guymon High School in 1937 she attended Panhandle A& M College in Goodwell, OK. Mickey was married to Howard Clark Nash, SR in Guymon January 7th 1940 and they were happily married 66 years. Mickey was a life- long member of the Methodist Church in both Guymon and Gruver, TX, a fifty year member of PEO, AM Chapter, a member of the Order of Eastern Star. Mickey was Mother Advisor of Rainbow Girls for several years and as a sharp and avid bridge player, she was a member of Tri K and Club Eighteen bridge. Howard and Mickey lived in Gruver, TX for 30 years and enjoyed their friends and Gruver church, while being closer to their farming interests. Mickey was also a talented artist. She most especially enjoyed oil painting and taught each one of her grandchildren to paint. Mickey, "Mama" to her children and "Mimi" to her grandchildren and great grandchildren will always be remembered for her kindness and love for her family and friends. She is survived by her children Clark Nash Jr. And wife Barbara of Tyler, TX; Nancy Meyer and husband Tim of Texhoma, OK; Susan Hensley and her husband Frank of Loveland, CO; and stepdaughter Diane Broce of Cuchara, CO; ten grandchildren Leslie Grochowski and husband Greg, of Tyler, TX; Tamara Shaugnessy and husband Kurt, of Amarillo, TX, Stephanie Bernhart and husband George, of Chicago, IL, Brady Meyer of Amarillo, TX, Brandon Meyer and wife Julie of Stillwater, OK, Julie Henander and husband Jack of Windsor, CO, Teresa Higley and husband James of Lakewood, CO, Scott Landreth and wife Sarah of Denver, CO, Kimberly MacArthur and husband Dutch of Carlsbad, NM, Kim Van Wormer and husband Brad of Pagosa Springs CO, 23 great-grandchildren Geoffrey Grochowski of Winter Garden, FL, Ashleigh Richardson, and husband Nick of Dallas TX, Amber Hauptman of Austin, TX, Allison, Nash, and Jack Bernhart of Chicago, IL, Connor Shaugnessy of Amarillo, TX, and J.C. Bernhart of College Station, TX, Rhett, Sawyer, and Slavin Meyer of Canadian, TX Jake, Emily, and Lily Meyer of Stillwater, OK, James and Claire Henander of Windsor, CO, Abby Fleener and Hope Higley of Lakewood CO., Ava and Jack Landreth of Denver, CO, Cameron MacArthur and husband Dutch of Carlsbad, NM, Jesa Van Wormer of Denver CO, Ryan Van Wormer of Durango, CO and 2 great-great grandchildren Mykah Van Wormer of Durango, CO and Owen Clark Richardson of Dallas, TX . She is also survived by her brother, Richard Dixon and wife Charlotte of Liberal, KS; and sister in-law Alice Margret Dixon of Dallas, TX. She was preceded in death by her husband Howard Nash, two brothers Homer Dixon Jr., and Jim Dixon and a great grandson Matthew Fleener. Graveside services will be at Saturday afternoon, 1:30 PM at Elmhurst Cemetery, Guymon. Memorial services will follow at 2PM Saturday, August 18th at Victory Memorial United Methodist Church, 523 N Roosevelt, with the Rev. Gary Holdeman, pastor officiating.
