Paul (Biggie) Stephens Obituary (1943

Paul Charles (Biggie) Stephens was born on September 20, 1943 to Marie Wilson Stephens and Dave Stephens in Milfay, OK. He went home to Glory on Wednesday evening, March 7th 2012 at his home with his family at his bedside. Paul attended school in Stroud, OK. In 1960, he hitchhiked to Guymon to visit his brother. While visiting, Paul met the love of his life, Sherry Drew Bookless. Paul and Sherry married on October 25, 1962 in Poteau, OK. They have lived in Guymon for most of their married life. Paul was well known for his tile work in many homes and businesses in the Guymon area. For the last 22 years he has worked for Guymon Public Schools, first as a bus driver and most recently as the Transportation Director. He has spent many hours doing one of his favorite things, taking various teams on bus trips throughout the surrounding area and all over the state. He loved following his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren to their many sporting events. Paul served faithfully as a member of Living Word Fellowship for 20 years and most recently as a member of Lifeway Christian Center. He was preceded in death by his parents, his stepfather, Preston Ingram, one brother, James (Sonny) Stephens and two sisters, Mae Vinson and Pam Pierce. Paul is survived by his wife, Sherry, of the home, three daughters, Paula Stephens and friend Tammi Holden of Broken Arrow, Terri McBee and husband Johnny, Michelle Gideon and husband David, all of Guymon, four granddaughters, Rachelle Trimble and husband Michael, of Guymon, April Madrid and fiancAC. James Raulston of Woodward, Christina Gideon of Guymon and Carly Madrid of Elkhart, KS; three grandsons, Cole Roark and wife, Karli, of Canadian, TX, Devin McBee of Boise City, and Eric Gideon of Guymon. Paul was the proud great grandfather of 7 great grandchildren. He is also survived by three sisters, Ivoria Conley, of Tulsa, Ruthie Tipkin, of Webbers Falls and Donia Smith of Stroud, three brothers, Michael Ingram and wife, Julie, of Stroud, Jerry Stephens, Edward Stephens and one brother-in-law, Jerald Bookless and fiancAC. Renee Edick, of Longmont, CO, as well as a host of nieces, nephews and great friends. The Stephens family will receive friends on Friday evening, 6-8 P.M. at the Henson-Novak Funeral Chapel, 501 NW Fifth, Guymon. Funeral services will be Saturday morning, March 10th, 10:30 A.M. at the Church of the Nazarene, 2214 N Sunset, with Paul's pastor, Rev. Dallas McGlasson and longtime friend, Rev.
