Shauna Perez

–

Guymon, Oklahoma

Some people enter this world and leave footprints on our hearts so deep that even death cannot erase them. Vic and Diane welcomed their first daughter on July 25", 1976, and she was one of those people. Shauna Tennille Perez, 50, of Guymon, OK, was welcomed home on November 3, 2026, surrounded by loved ones.

Shauna was a member of Sunset Lane Baptist Church, attended and graduated from Guymon Public School, and went on to Oklahoma University, where she received a full scholarship as part of the Sooner marching band. During her years in Guymon, Shauna worked as a dispatcher with the Guymon Police Department, a customer service representative at Panhandle Telephone, and, lastly, the head of security at Golden Mesa Casino. Wherever Shauna went, one thing was certain: she had a way of making people feel loved, welcomed, and important. She had a gift for knowing when someone needed a laugh, a kind word, or simply a reminder that everything would be ok.

Shauna was more than a daughter, sister, mother, and friend. She was the glue that held her family together, helping hold together the pieces of hearts that had been broken, often putting others' needs before her own. Of all the titles Shauna held, there was one she cherished above all the rest: MOM. All her life, Shauna dreamt of being a mother, and on August 8th, 2013, Shauna and Carlos gifted this world with a beautiful baby girl, Zyah. Shauna gained not only a daughter but also her very best friend.

Whether it was a swim meet, cross-country meet, or an ordinary day, Shauna was Zyah's biggest cheerleader, loudest supporter, and fiercest protector. To Shauna, motherhood was about building a relationship rooted in trust, openness, and unconditional love, which provided Zyah with the freedom to be herself and the certainty that she was loved beyond measure.

Although our hearts are broken by her departure, it comforts us to imagine the homecoming that awaited her. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Sonny and Ada Strutton; her paternal grandfather, Lupe Gonzales; her dad, Dennis Heimsoth; and her nephew, Keshon Williams.

We know that the love Shauna gave so freely did not leave this world when she did. It lives on in the family she held together and the lives of her countless friends. She is survived by her daughter, Zyah Amezcua and Aubrey Perez, of the home; her mother, Diane Heimsoth; her father, Vic Perez, her sisters, Stephanie Perez, Ashley Stone, and Candace Heimsoth Louw; her brother, Shanndon Perez; her grandmother, Minga Gonzales; her aunts and uncles, Joe and Lori Ballard, Tom Strutton, Anna Engel, Liz Gilkey, and Gonzo Gonzales; Judy Castorena and son, Major; Carlos Amezcua and sons, Carlitos and Gabriel, along with a massive amount of extended family and numerous friends.

Celebration of Life Services will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2026 at 2:00 o’clock at Sunset Lane Baptist Church with Pastor David Moore officiating.
