Weurta Lee Fawcett Obituary (1929

Weurta Lee Fawcett, 80, passed away Wednesday morning, July 8th, 2009 at Presbyterian Hospital, Dallas, Texas. The daughter of Nora Beatrice (Daily) and Ira Bradford Davidson, she was born March 31, 1929 in Guymon, Oklahoma. She attended Goodwell, Oklahoma schools, graduating from Goodwell High with the Class of 1947. She was united in marriage to Wallace Franklin (Nate) Fawcett on Christmas Eve, 1950 at the First Presbyterian Church in Guymon. She later graduated from Oklahoma A&M, Stillwater, Oklahoma in 1954 with a business degree. Weurta's family was her joy. She was a loving, kind and adored wife, mother, and grandmother. The Fawcetts moved from Midland, Texas to Guymon in 1971. Weurta was a member of Victory Memorial United Methodist Church, a longtime member and past president of P.E.O., Chapter AM, was active in Eastern Star and the Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. In 2000, the Fawcetts moved to Dallas. Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Nate Fawcett; a daughter, Nancy and husband, Bill Langhenry of Dallas, TX; two sons, Michael Owen Fawcett of Austin, TX; and Chris Franklin Fawcett and wife, Aronda, of Dodge City, KS; five grandchildren, Jennifer Fawcett of Tulsa, OK; Rochelle and husband, A.J. Pyle of Gardner, KS; Nicholas Fawcett of Lawrence, KS; and Billy Langhenry and Nathan Langhenry, both of Dallas; two great grandchildren, Gavyn and Caden Pyle. She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Glenn Allen Fawcett, who passed away February 15, 1974. The Fawcett family will receive friends at the Henson-Novak Funeral Home, 501 NW Fifth Street, Guymon, on Friday evening from 7-8:00 PM. Funeral services will be Saturday morning, July 11th, 11:00 A.M. at Victory Memorial United Methodist Church, 6th & Roosevelt, Guymon, with Rev. Dr. Michael Burkett, pastor, officiating.
