Yahir Roberto Nieto-Licea, 21-year-old Dalhart, Texas and longtime Boise City, Oklahoma resident passed away from injuries due to an auto accident on Saturday July 27, 2024. Yahir Roberto Nieto-Licea was born on December 14th, 2002, in Reynosa, Tamaulipas to Laura Cecilia Licea and Luis Miguel Chavez. He attended Boise City public school system graduating with the class of 2021. After high school he attended Garden City Community College where he studied Diesel Mechanics. In his spare time Yahir enjoyed spending time with his family, his fiance, and his dog Buda. He enjoyed roping, riding motorcycles, working cattle, working on his Mazda and Dodge, golfing, grilling with his family, fishing, playing guitar, hat shaping, and braiding rope. He is preceded in death by his Grandmother Maria Macias Munoz, uncle Victor Constantino Licea Diaz, and Cousin Blanca Y Velazquez. He is survived by his parents, Laura Cecilia Chavez & Luis Miguel Chavez, two brothers: Ian Carlo Licea Diaz, Yerik A Licea, and one sister: Kelsey M. Chavez of Boise City, fiance Mariah Kay Beasley. Maternal grandparents: Constantino Licea and B. Margarita Diaz and paternal grandfather: Efren Chavez Parra. He is also survived by many aunts and uncles: Marcela Mireles, Teresa Licea Lehman, Rosario Licea, Norma, Alondra, Jose Ramon Chavez and Miguel A. Licea, cousins: Sandra Licea, Constantino Licea Jr., Jan Miguel Licea, Yahadira Licea, Angel Licea, Julio Cesar Hiracheta, Destiny S. Baxter, Jake W. Baxter, Jaxson W. Baxter, Jenson C. Baxter, Kansas A Hiracheta, and Bethany L. Lehman. He also leaves behind several other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 1, 2024, at Henson ~ Novak Funeral Home in Boise City from 12:00 Noon to 8:00 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, August 2, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at The Boise City High School Auditorium with Father Joseph Schwarz officiating. Funeral Mass will follow at 4:00 at The Good Shepard Catholic Church in Boise City. Interment will be at Boise City Cemetery following Funeral Mass.
